Dignitary Protection
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide state and local officers with the skills and abilities to perform close personal protection operations for government officials, visiting dignitaries, or persons under threat of harm. We offer a full spectrum of the most current concepts, practices and widely-established procedures used in protective service missions. The didactic curriculum is intended for the novice, as well as the experienced, practitioner of close personal protection. Police managers may utilize this training to establish a dignitary protection unit within their respective departments.
Practical exercises reinforce classroom lecture. Students conduct advances and prepare site surveys, vulnerability assessments, and operational plans; practice various foot formations and apply specialized techniques to respond to changing environments and threats to the principal. Motorcade operations prepares the student for driving in formation in various environments and responding to assaults or threats to the security of the motorcade. Students practice arrivals and departures, utilizing foot formations to embark and disembark in motorcade vehicles. Moreover, students learn ambush recognition and effective strategies to escape and evade an assault. Students receive written materials and flash drives to retain as models for protective service missions. Lap tops are not required, but are encouraged for classroom use.
